The proceedings of the 1st Joint Meeting of the FAO-CIHEAM Network for Research and Development in Sheep and Goats (Subnetworks on Nutrition and Production Systems) and the FAO-CIHEAM Subnetwork for Research and Development of Mediterranean Forage Resources have been published in CIHEAM journal Options Méditerranéennes with the title “Efficiency and resilience of forage resources and small ruminant production to cope with global challenges in Mediterranean areas“.

The opening ceremony of the 9th edition of the University Master's Degree in "Sustainable Fisheries Management"was held last 1st October in Alicante. The MSc programme is jointly organised by the University of Alicante (UA), the International Centre for Advanced Mediterranean Agronomic Studies (CIHEAM), through the Mediterranean Agronomic Institute of Zaragoza (CIHEAM Zaragoza), and the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAPA), through the General Secretariat for Fisheries (SGP); the General Fisheries Commission for the Mediterranean (GFCM) and the Fisheries and Aquaculture Department of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) provide technical support within the limits of their mandates.

The CIHEAM sincerely congratulates him and wishes him every success in the accomplishment of this worthy mission.

Summary of the advanced online course on olive growing and climate change organized by CIHEAM Zaragoza and the International Olive Council (IOC)

The subject of the course was of great interest and attracted a large number of applications (124) from 26 countries in Europe, Africa, Latin America and Asia. Seventy six professionals from public institutions, universities, research centres and private companies (Algeria, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Croatia, Cyprus, Egypt, France, Georgia, Greece, Iran, Israel, Italy, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Pakistan, Palestine, Portugal, Slovenia, Spain, Tunisia, Turkey, United States and Uruguay) were selected to participate in the course.
The delegate of Tunisia to CIHEAM, Mr Mahmoud Elies Hamza, has been appointed Minister of Agriculture.

The Prime Minister, Najla Bouden, has introduced the members of the new Tunisian government, including the new Minister of Agriculture, Mr Mahmoud Elies Hamza, President of IRESA and delegate of Tunisia to CIHEAM. CIHEAM Zaragoza would like to congratulate him on his new position and wishes him every success in this worthy mission.

L’Agence de promotion des investissements agricoles (Apia) a inauguré jeudi dernier, à la Cité des sciences de Tunis, le marché des produits du terroir tunisien, au cours duquel une cérémonie de remise des médailles a eu lieu. Ainsi, la troisième édition du Concours tunisien des produits du terroir a vu l’attribution de prix et de médailles à des candidats qui se sont particulièrement distingués, parmi lesquels une artisane et exploitante de produits majoritairement à base de dattes dont les produits sont particulièrement réputés et appréciés à Sousse et dans la région du Sahel. Il s’agit de Kaouther Kechiche Ben Amor.
