The course was organized by CIHEAM Zaragoza, ICARDA and EFI from 9 to 13 May and offered a plural valuation approach of ecosystem services, a view of existing policy assessment frameworks and a critical review of valuation methods and instruments, highlighting the importance of their integration.

Fisheries Monitoring, Control and Surveillance

A proper monitoring, control and surveillance system allows States to effectively implement its fisheries management policy. Notwithstanding its importance, many States lack the required expertise in MCS matters, making it difficult to reach key fisheries management policy objectives. In this context, CIHEAM Zaragoza, FAO and the Spanish Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAPA) through the General Secretariat of Fisheries (SGP) have organized a course on Fisheries Monitoring, Control and Surveillance which will take place in Zaragoza from 27 June to 8 July 2022
