Introduction to Fisheries monitoring, control and surveillance (MCS)
This introductory course is divided into six online modules with a total estimated duration of 10-12 hours. It was developed from selected lectures of the Advanced course on “Fisheries monitoring, control and surveillance” held in Zaragoza (Spain) from 18 June to 1 July 2022. The advanced course was organized by the International Centre for Advanced Mediterranean Agronomic Studies (CIHEAM), through the Mediterranean Agronomic Institute of Zaragoza (CIHEM Zaragoza), and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), through its Fisheries and Aquaculture Division, with the collaboration of the the Spanish Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAPA) through the General Secretariat of Fisheries (SGP).
This is a introductory course designed by FAO to impart the principles of fisheries monitoring, control and surveillance. It is structured into six sections (modules): i) an overview of fisheries management; ii) an introduction to MCS; iii) MCS information (types, sources, uses, and management); iv) MCS programmes and schemes; v) technology used in fisheries MCS; vi) technical aspects of fisheries enforcement and vii) introduction to the FAO Port State Measures Agreement (PSMA).
Online module developed from the lectures of the online advanced course on “New feeds and feeding technologies in aquaculture” held from 14 to 23 June 2021. A course jointly organized by CIHEAM Zaragoza and the EU H2020 project MedAID, with the collaboration of the EU H2020 projects PerformFISH and NewTechAqua.

Sustainability assessment and social acceptance of aquaculture production
Online modules and materials developed from lectures of the advanced course held in Zaragoza (Spain), from 24 to 28 February 2020. A course jointly organized by CIHEAM Zaragoza and the EU H2020 projects TAPAS and MedAID.
Parasitic Diseases Prevention and management Online modules developed from two lectures of the advanced course on “Diagnostics and prevention for fish parasite control in aquaculture” held in Zaragoza (Spain), from 21 to 25 October 2019. A course jointly organized by CIHEAM Zaragoza, the EU H2020 project ParaFishControl, with the EU H2020 projects PerformFISH and MedAID and the Faculty of Veterinary Science of Zaragoza.
Payments for environmental services (PES) in Mediterranean ecosystems
Advanced course organized by CIHEAM Zaragoza, UfM, EFI and IUCN from 17 to 21 February 2014. The course is organized in four modules and twenty lectures in which nine researchers and professionals working in projects involving payments for ecosystem services have been engaged.

Massive Online Open Course (MOOC) developed by the H2020 project SIMRA and hosted by Future Learn, a global platform for distance learning. The course takes learners step by step though a structured framework to understand, categorize, evaluate and promote social innovations in rural contexts. It includes theory, practical tools, and content from real case examples taken from different areas in Europe and non-European Mediterranean countries.
