The city

The two thousand-year old city of Zaragoza, with more than 700,000 inhabitants, is situated in the centre of an important agricultural region - the Ebro River Valley - and has one of the most prestigious university complexes in Spain.

Equidistant between Madrid and Barcelona, the two most important cities in Spain, Zaragoza has good road, rail and air communication networks.

Zaragoza has a dry continental climate with an average annual rainfall of 320 mm, mean maximum and minimum temperatures of 30.7ºC and 14.5ºC respectively and a frequent northwesterly wind.

The Campus of Aula Dei is situated 15 km away from the city centre, at km 7 of the secondary road from Montañana to San Mateo. It can be reached by car from the National II road, Lérida-Barcelona direction (Zaragoza direction if coming from Catalonia), taking the exit Montañana-Santa Isabel. The sign for the Campus of Aula Dei can be seen about 4 km after driving through the village of Montañana. The sign for IAMZ is at the entrance to the campus.

IAMZ has a daily coach service between Zaragoza and the campus for staff and participants at the beginning and at the end of each day, following a pre-established route.
